Tour Plan

  • Day 1: Arusha – Central Serengeti
After breakfast in Arusha, depart for the iconic Serengeti National Park, traveling through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with scenic views of the crater highlands. Upon entering the Serengeti, begin a game drive en route to camp. The central Serengeti (Seronera region) is known for year-round wildlife density and strong predator presence. You may encounter lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and large herds of zebra and wildebeest. Dinner and overnight at Tukaone Camp, strategically located in the heart of the Serengeti ecosystem.
  • Day 2: Central Serengeti – Northern Serengeti (Mara River Region)
After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive as you travel north toward the Mara River region in the northern Serengeti. This area becomes particularly dramatic during the Great Migration (typically July to October), when thousands of wildebeest and zebra attempt river crossings while predators and crocodiles wait nearby. Even outside migration season, the region offers exceptional scenery and diverse wildlife including elephants, giraffes, lions, and resident herbivore populations. Arrive at Classic View Kogatende Camp for dinner and overnight.
  • Day 3: Full-Day Mara River Exploration
Today is dedicated to exploring the Mara River sector of the Serengeti. Your guide will track wildlife movements, focusing on river crossing points (seasonal) and predator territories. The Mara River ecosystem supports large Nile crocodiles, hippos, and significant predator activity. Depending on timing and luck, you may witness dramatic river crossings — one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife spectacles. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed in the bush, maximizing time in the field. Return to Classic View Kogatende Camp for dinner and your second overnight.
  • Day 4: Northern Serengeti – Ngorongoro Highlands
After breakfast, begin your journey southward through the Serengeti with game viewing en route. This extended drive provides additional opportunities to observe wildlife across varying habitats. Exit the Serengeti and proceed toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where the landscape transitions from open plains to lush highlands. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Wild Camp, located near the crater rim area in a tranquil forest setting.
  • Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Return to Arusha
After an early breakfast, descend approximately 600 meters into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most concentrated wildlife ecosystems. The crater floor offers excellent chances to spot the Big Five, including the endangered black rhino. During your half-day game drive, you may encounter lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, flamingos, hyenas, and large herds of zebra and wildebeest. After a picnic lunch near a hippo pool, ascend the crater walls and return to Arusha in the late afternoon, marking the end of your 5-day Mara River and Northern Tanzania safari experience.
