-
Day 1: Zanzibar – Fly to Serengeti National Park
Your safari begins with a morning transfer from your hotel in Zanzibar to the airport for a scheduled bush flight to the iconic Serengeti National Park. Upon arrival at the airstrip, you will be met by your professional safari guide and begin your first game drive en route to camp. The Serengeti is globally renowned for its expansive savannah, high predator density, and the seasonal Great Migration. Wildlife sightings may include lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and hyenas. Dinner and overnight at Safari Haven, set in a prime wildlife area within the Serengeti ecosystem. -
Day 2: Full-Day Serengeti Game Drive
After breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive in the Serengeti. The early morning hours offer excellent opportunities to observe predators while they are most active. Depending on the time of year, you may witness dramatic wildlife interactions or large herds moving across the plains. A picnic lunch will be served in the bush to maximize time in the field. Your guide will tailor the day’s route based on wildlife movement and seasonal patterns to ensure optimal sightings. Return to Safari Haven in the late afternoon for dinner and your second overnight in the Serengeti. -
Day 3: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Highlands
After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive as you gradually exit the Serengeti, continuing wildlife viewing en route toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The landscape transitions from open plains to lush highlands as you approach the crater rim region. Scenic viewpoints along the way offer impressive panoramas of the surrounding ecosystem. Arrive in Karatu in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight at Eileen’s Trees Inn, located near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. -
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast, descend approximately 600 meters into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most concentrated wildlife areas. The crater floor supports an exceptional density of animals within a compact ecosystem, offering strong chances to spot the Big Five, including the endangered black rhino. You may also encounter hippos, flamingos, hyenas, lions, elephants, and large herds of zebra and wildebeest. A picnic lunch will be served near a hippo pool before ascending the crater walls in the afternoon. Return to Eileen’s Trees Inn for dinner and overnight. -
Day 5: Tarangire National Park – Return Flight to Zanzibar
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant populations and iconic baobab trees. The Tarangire River attracts abundant wildlife, particularly during the dry season. During your game drive, you may see elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and a wide variety of bird species. After lunch and continued wildlife viewing, transfer to Arusha Airport for your scheduled afternoon flight back to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel, marking the end of your 5-day Northern Tanzania fly-in safari experience.
