Tour Plan

  • Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Maasai Village – Mikumi National Park
After early breakfast in Dar es Salaam, depart by road toward Mikumi National Park, approximately 5–6 hours’ drive via Morogoro. En route, visit a traditional Maasai village near Mikumi. This cultural experience provides insight into Maasai pastoral life, traditional housing (Manyattas), customs, and social structure. You may witness traditional dances and learn about beadwork, livestock practices, and community traditions. After the village visit, proceed into Mikumi National Park for an afternoon game drive. The park’s open Mkata Floodplain offers excellent wildlife visibility. You may encounter elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, wildebeest, and lions. In the evening, transfer to Camp Bastian Mikumi for dinner and overnight.
  • Day 2: Mikumi Game Drive – Udzungwa Mountains
After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in Mikumi National Park, when wildlife activity is typically highest. Later in the morning, depart for Udzungwa Mountains National Park, located approximately 1–1.5 hours from Mikumi. Upon arrival, begin a guided hike through tropical forest trails. Udzungwa is renowned for its rich biodiversity, endemic primates, and lush scenery. The most popular route leads to the Sanje Waterfalls, offering panoramic views across the Kilombero Valley. Along the way, you may spot primates such as red colobus monkeys and a variety of bird species. After the hike, return to Camp Bastian Mikumi for dinner and overnight.
  • Day 3: Mikumi – Return to Dar es Salaam
After breakfast, begin the return drive to Dar es Salaam. Arrival is expected in the early afternoon, marking the end of your 3-day culture, wildlife, and hiking adventure in southern Tanzania.
