Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park is a compact yet remarkably diverse safari destination nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Known for its lush groundwater forest, alkaline lake, and varied habitats, the park supports elephants, hippos, giraffes, buffalo, and large troops of baboons, as well as its famous tree-climbing lions. Seasonal flocks of flamingos gather along the lake’s shoreline, adding vibrant color to the landscape. Despite its smaller size, Lake Manyara offers rich biodiversity, scenic beauty, and excellent wildlife viewing, making it a rewarding stop on Tanzania’s Northern Circuit.
