Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Arusha is the gateway to Tanzania’s Northern Circuit and the starting point for your safari adventure. The remainder of the day is at leisure to relax and recover from your journey. Overnight at Summit Lodge, located in a peaceful setting on the outskirts of Arusha. -
Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, renowned for its impressive elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. The Tarangire River attracts abundant wildlife, particularly during the dry season. During your game drive, you may encounter large elephant families, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and numerous bird species. The park’s varied landscape of rolling savannah and riverine woodland provides excellent photographic opportunities. In the late afternoon, proceed to the lodge for dinner and overnight at KanKari Lodge. -
Day 3: Tarangire – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, depart for the world-famous Serengeti National Park, driving through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with scenic views of the crater highlands. Upon entering the Serengeti, begin a game drive en route to camp. The Serengeti’s endless plains are home to large predator populations and, seasonally, the Great Migration. You may encounter lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, and vast herds of wildebeest and zebra. Arrive at Classic View Camp for dinner and overnight. -
Day 4: Full-Day Serengeti Game Drive
Today is dedicated to exploring the Serengeti in depth. Early morning hours offer prime opportunities to observe predator activity, while the open plains allow for exceptional wildlife viewing throughout the day. Your guide will track wildlife movements and adjust the route accordingly to maximize sightings. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed in the bush, allowing extended time in the field. Return to Classic View Camp for dinner and your second overnight in the Serengeti. -
Day 5: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Highlands
After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive as you exit the Serengeti and travel toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The landscape gradually shifts from open plains to lush highlands. Scenic viewpoints along the way offer impressive panoramas over the surrounding ecosystem. Arrive in Karatu in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight at Country Lodge, set within attractive gardens near the Ngorongoro area. -
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha
After an early breakfast, descend approximately 600 meters into the remarkable Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most concentrated wildlife areas. The crater floor provides one of the best opportunities in Tanzania to spot the endangered black rhino, completing your Big Five checklist. During your game drive, you may also encounter lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, hyenas, flamingos, and large herds of zebra and wildebeest. A picnic lunch will be served at a designated site before ascending in the afternoon. Return to Arusha for dinner and overnight at Summit Lodge. -
Day 7: Departure
After breakfast, transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport for your onward flight, marking the end of your 7-day Big Five safari experience in Northern Tanzania.
